Who We Are
Language Interpreter Center (LIC) provides onsite, scheduled telephonic and video remote interpreting, and on-demand over-the-phone and on-demand video remote interpreting services in over 100 different languages. The LIC also provides translations services in over 10 different languages (any type of written document). Languages that are more commonly requested are Spanish, Korean, Samoan, Hmong, Tagalog, Russian and Yup’ik. There are fees associated to interpreter and translation services.
Program Goals
Provide qualified language interpreters and translators to government, business and service organizations for Alaskans with limited English proficiency
- Provide training to bilingual individuals to become language interpreters and translators
- Provide assistance to agencies to create comprehensive meaningful language access plans
- Provide training for groups and agencies on working with language interpreters
